BTC liquidations on Binance: live
Positions the exchange closes by force. Binance publishes at most one liquidation per second, so this is a lower bound.
How to read it
A liquidation is the forced closing of a leveraged position when collateral no longer covers the loss. A long liquidation is a market sell; a short liquidation is a market buy. That is why liquidation cascades accelerate moves: a drop wipes out longs, their selling pushes price lower and triggers the next ones.
The balance matters: if mostly shorts were liquidated over 24 hours, leveraged sellers have been flushed; if longs, leveraged buyers. How crowded positioning is right now is shown by Squeeze risk and funding.
How it is calculated
The data is Binance USDⓈ-M’s BTCUSDT liquidation stream, which our server listens to around the clock. Binance publishes at most one liquidation per second per pair, so these figures are a lower bound — real volume is higher, especially during cascades. Market-wide volume (all exchanges) is usually several times larger.
FAQ
What is a long liquidation?
The exchange force-sells a leveraged buyer’s position when price moves against it and collateral runs out. That selling pressures the price.
Why are the numbers lower than on CoinGlass?
We show Binance BTCUSDT only, and Binance reports at most one liquidation per second. CoinGlass aggregates all exchanges and pairs.
How often does the feed update?
