About
Gate has been around since 2013 (called Bter until 2017, it moved from Gate.io to Gate.com in 2025). Its hallmark is a very long token list, including early-stage and thinly traded projects, plus futures, options and copy trading.
Fees are standard at 0.1% on spot, and reserves are regularly backed by proof of reserves. In the EU it operates under a Maltese MiCA licence, while the global platform is closed to the US, the UK and several EU states. A long tail of small caps also means higher risk.
Pros
- One of the widest token lists
- Proof of reserves at 115% coverage
- Available in Russia
Cons

- Global platform closed to the US, UK and parts of the EU
