Crypto.com started in 2016 as the Monaco app and is best known for its Visa cards and mass-market app. Crypto.com Exchange is the separate venue for active trading, with an order book, derivatives and bots.
In January 2025 it was among the first major exchanges to win a MiCA licence, in Malta. Entry-level spot fees are high at 0.25%/0.50% and drop with volume and CRO staking. A $34 million hack in 2022 ended with full reimbursement.
