About

Bitvavo is a Dutch exchange founded in Amsterdam in 2018 and one of the EU's largest by users (more than 2 million). It serves EEA residents only and has held a MiCA licence from the Dutch AFM since June 2025.

It lists 400+ coins, offers staking and simple euro purchases, and has no derivatives. Fees are moderate at 0.15%/0.25%. When €280 million got stuck with partner DCG in 2022, the founders covered the gap themselves and clients were unaffected.
