About

Bitstamp is one of the oldest exchanges still running: founded in Slovenia in 2011 and now based in Luxembourg. In June 2025 US broker Robinhood bought it for $200 million.

Its focus is regulation, with more than 50 licences and registrations, including MiCA and a New York BitLicense. The coin list is modest at around 85, and there are no retail derivatives. Fees at low volumes are above average. It suits users who value a solid jurisdiction over a long token list.
