Strategy Buys No BTC for a Week, Spends $204.9M on STRC Buyback
Strategy did not buy or sell bitcoin on Oct. 19–25; holdings stay at 848,517 BTC while $204.9M went to repurchasing STRC preferred shares, per its 8-K.

Strategy did not buy or sell any bitcoin between Oct. 19 and Oct. 25, 2026, according to an 8-K filing submitted to the SEC on Monday, Oct. 26. Holdings are unchanged at about 848,517 BTC, while the company spent $204.9 million repurchasing its STRC preferred shares during the week.
Details
The filing says Strategy sold no shares under its at-the-market program and made no bitcoin purchases or sales. Total spending on bitcoin is about $64.02 billion at an average of roughly $75,446 per coin, including fees and expenses. A week earlier Strategy bought 267 BTC, so this week marks a pause in buying.
The STRC buyback covered 2,068,459 shares for $204.9 million. No STRF, STRK, STRD or MSTR common shares were repurchased. About $956.8 million remains under the preferred-stock repurchase program and $1.0 billion under the MSTR program.
The buyback was funded from "USD Cash." As of Oct. 25 the USD Reserve, which backs preferred dividends and interest on debt, stood at $4.83 billion and USD Cash at $242.4 million. A week earlier USD Cash was $447.3 million, per the previous filing.
What it means for the market
Strategy is still the largest corporate bitcoin holder we track, but this week its cash went into its own securities rather than the bitcoin market. A week without purchases is not a sale: the dollar reserve for dividends and debt did not change.
