US spot ether ETFs lost $1.08B from Oct. 1 to 20, with only one inflow day, Oct. 13 (+$24.8M). The largest outflow was $201.9M on Oct. 6.

US spot ether ETFs have lost about $1.08B in net outflows from Oct. 1 to Oct. 20, according to daily SoSoValue data tracked in our ETF flows table. Of 14 trading sessions, only one brought inflows: $24.8M on Oct. 13.
Details
The worst day of the month was Oct. 6, with $201.9M leaving the funds, as we reported. Another $160.8M left the next day. On Oct. 20 the funds lost $26.1M, driven by BlackRock's ETHA (−$33.0M), while Grayscale's ETH and Fidelity's FETH took in $3.3M and $3.6M.
Despite the October drain, cumulative net inflows since launch remain positive at roughly $12.8B by our data, with about $15.0B in net assets. Cointelegraph also reports the $1.1B October outflow, citing the same SoSoValue data. It adds that this is the largest monthly outflow since November 2025 and that it erased September's $832M of inflows.
What it means for the market
The run of outflows points to institutional demand for ether that is clearly weaker than for bitcoin this month: spot BTC ETFs took in large inflows over the same period, including $526.6M on Oct. 19. Fund outflows are not the same as direct selling of ether on the market, and they do not predict price. For the live price see the daily brief, and for more on the asset see the Ethereum page.
