DTCC launches tokenization service with 34 securities
DTCC says its Tokenization Service is live, with 34 securities available at launch; tokens are backed 1:1 by securities held at its DTC depository.

US securities depository DTCC says its Tokenization Service is now live, with 34 securities available at launch, according to the service page on dtcc.com (as of Oct. 28, 2026).
Details
The page says the tokens are backed 1:1 by securities held at DTC, DTCC's depository, and support 24/7 peer-to-peer transfers between DTC-registered wallets. The Defiant reports that 20 DTC participants have signed access agreements and that conversion orders run on a limited schedule rather than around the clock. The page does not say which 34 securities are included.
DTCC had pointed to an October launch since July, when it announced it had processed real US trades using DTC-tokenized assets with more than 30 firms, among them BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, CME Group, Nasdaq, NYSE and Circle. Those tests ran on LFDT's Besu (DTCC's private network) and on the public Canton network.
What it means for the market
Tokenizing traditional securities is one of the main routes by which crypto infrastructure is entering mainstream finance. A live service at DTCC, which sits at the center of US securities settlement, shows the idea moving from pilots to production, though at a very small scale for now: 34 securities and a limited operating schedule.
For crypto markets this is more a signal of demand for blockchain rails than a direct price driver. For the live bitcoin price, see the daily brief. Related: Securitize launches tokenized stocks on Solana.
