Spot Bitcoin ETFs Shed $82.4M on Oct. 16, Ether ETFs Lose $69.7M
Spot bitcoin ETFs posted $82.39M in net outflows on Oct. 16, per SoSoValue; IBIT led at $71.78M. Ether ETFs shed $69.68M for a third straight day.

Spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $82.39 million in net outflows for the October 16 (ET) session, according to Wu Blockchain citing SoSoValue data. BlackRock's IBIT drove the bulk of redemptions, shedding $71.78 million. Spot ether ETFs lost $69.68 million — entirely from BlackRock's ETHA — marking their third consecutive day of outflows.
Details
Recent sessions have been consistently weak. On Oct. 15, bitcoin ETFs attracted just $5 million — a multi-week low — while ether funds bled $60 million. Oct. 14 was even sharper: after hotter-than-expected U.S. CPI data came in at 3.7%, bitcoin ETFs recorded $261 million in outflows, the largest single-day figure this month.
The concentration of redemptions in BlackRock's products is notable: IBIT and ETHA are among the largest and most liquid crypto ETFs, making them the first to absorb selling pressure when sentiment shifts.
What It Means for Markets
The consecutive outflows reflect institutional caution as elevated U.S. inflation fuels Federal Reserve rate hike expectations. That said, multi-day outflow streaks have been followed by inflow recovery periods throughout the year. For the latest bitcoin price, see the CoinLab home page.
