Bitcoin ETFs Shed $261M on Oct. 14 as XRP Funds Stay Positive
Bitcoin spot ETFs logged $261M in outflows on Wednesday after hot US CPI data pushed BTC below $82K. XRP funds were the only category to post net inflows among the five tracked.

Spot bitcoin ETFs logged $261 million in net outflows on Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to SoSoValue data reported by Cointelegraph on Oct. 15. The move followed a hotter-than-expected US September CPI reading that sent bitcoin below $82,000.
Details
Bitcoin funds led redemptions at $261 million on the day. Ether ETFs followed with $130 million in outflows, while Solana funds shed another $1.3 million — their eighth consecutive losing session. XRP exchange-traded funds were the only category among the five tracked to finish in positive territory, drawing roughly $740,000 in net inflows.
For the week through Wednesday, the combined outflow across all five tracked categories stands at $151 million, sharply improved from the $681 million in net outflows recorded the prior week.
Wednesday's result stands in contrast to a $176 million net inflow day on Monday, Oct. 13, when ether ETFs also broke a ten-day outflow streak. Back-to-back swings in opposite directions underscore how sensitive institutional demand has become to macro data releases.
What This Means for the Market
The improvement in the weekly outflow figure — from $681 million to $151 million — suggests selling pressure has meaningfully eased, even as single-day volatility remains high. The resilience of XRP funds amid broad outflows points to rotation within the crypto ETF space rather than a wholesale exit.
