KuCoin Ends Service for Users in Russia and Belarus

Crypto exchange KuCoin said on Oct. 29 that it is immediately ending service for users in Russia and Belarus. The restriction covers all of the platform's products and services. The exchange cited a general need to comply with the requirements of lawmakers and regulators.

Details

According to ForkLog, there is no single withdrawal deadline. Affected clients will receive individual notices with timeframes for closing positions and withdrawing assets. Users who have not received such a notice do not need to act yet, and existing account restrictions stay in place, Cointelegraph's Russian edition reports. KuCoin did not name the specific rules behind the decision. We could not find the official announcement on KuCoin's site, so this account relies on two independent outlets.

The move follows similar steps by other exchanges: Bitget restricted users in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on Oct. 16, and MEXC announced an exit from the same markets on Oct. 20. KuCoin advises users with questions about account status to contact official support only, and warns about phishing, as scammers often send fake "urgent withdrawal" messages.

What it means for the market

For Russian-speaking users, this is another major international service closing access. Those holding funds on KuCoin should watch for personal notices from the exchange and rely on official channels only. The news has no visible effect on the broader market; the daily brief and live prices are on /en/.
