Updated Oct 31, 3:45 AM ET: added the fund breakdown, context and a check against the previous days.

US spot bitcoin ETFs ended Friday, Oct 30 (Eastern Time), with net outflows of $208.59M, according to SoSoValue. On Oct 29, the funds had taken in about $17M in total.

Details

ARK 21Shares' ARKB lost the most, $129.55M. Grayscale's GBTC shed $53.32M and Bitwise's BITB $25.72M. Together these three funds account for the whole day's total. Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust, Morgan Stanley's MSBT and Franklin's EZBC reported zero flow. SoSoValue showed no daily flows for IBIT, FBTC, HODL, BRRR, BTCO and BTCW at the time of writing, so figures for them may still appear and change the total.

Total net assets of the bitcoin ETFs are about $102.9B per SoSoValue (roughly 6.5% of bitcoin's market cap), and cumulative net inflow since launch is about $57.4B. Trading volume in the funds for the day was about $6.4B.

A correction to earlier days: our note on Oct 29 used preliminary figures (a $2.42M outflow). In SoSoValue's final table for Oct 29, bitcoin funds took in $17.1M while ether funds lost $105.5M. On Oct 28, bitcoin funds took in $137.3M (our note).

What it means for the market

This is the first notable outflow after the Oct 26–28 inflows of $110–176M a day, though data for the largest funds is still missing. As of 3:35 AM ET on Oct 31, BTC traded near $77,400 on Binance, down about 1.4% over 24 hours.
