SpaceX Digital Assets at $1.573B, $64M Unrealized Loss
SpaceX's Q3 release shows digital assets of $1.573B vs $1.637B at end-2025 and a $64M nine-month unrealized loss; the bitcoin count is reportedly unchanged.

SpaceX published its third-quarter 2026 results on October 20. The "digital assets" line stood at $1.573 billion on September 30, compared with $1.637 billion at the end of 2025. The unrealized loss on those assets over nine months was $64 million.
Details
The figures come from SpaceX's earnings release, filed as an exhibit to its 8-K with the SEC: the cash-flow reconciliation lists a $64 million unrealized loss on digital assets, and the balance sheet shows $1.573 billion (versus $1.637 billion at year-end 2025). The decline matches market price moves rather than a sale.
The release uses the generic label, but the company has previously disclosed a bitcoin position: XTB reports SpaceX held 18,712 BTC on June 30. Bitcoin.com says the count is unchanged and puts the cost basis near $661 million. The release itself does not give a BTC count for September 30; that should appear in the quarterly 10-Q, which had not been filed with the SEC at the time of writing.
The core business grew: revenue of $14.6 billion (up 161% year over year) and net income of $4.4 billion. Super Intelligence was the largest segment at $7.56 billion, Fortune reports.
What This Means for the Market
A large public company, for which bitcoin is a small part of the balance sheet, is not selling into weakness, which limits one source of corporate-holder pressure. The position is small next to SpaceX's revenue and is not a market signal on its own. The live price is on the daily summary; see also the Bitcoin page. This is not investment advice.
