MARA Transfers 1,000 BTC Worth $82.8M to Binance and Gate in 5 Days
MARA Holdings moved 1,000 BTC ($82.8M) to Binance and Gate in five days, per Lookonchain; the miner has previously sold BTC to fund AI expansion.

On-chain analytics firm Lookonchain reported on Oct. 19, 2026 that wallets linked to MARA Holdings, the largest publicly listed bitcoin miner, deposited 1,000 BTC worth approximately $82.8 million into Binance and Gate.io over five days.
Details
The transfers were made in stages across five days. Deposits into centralized exchange wallets are typically interpreted by analysts as a precursor to selling, though MARA has not confirmed the transactions represent outright sales.
The miner has a documented pattern of liquidating BTC: by its own disclosure, MARA sold more than 23,000 BTC in 2026 to cover operating expenses, service debt, and fund expansion into artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Earlier this month, Lookonchain flagged a 996 BTC transfer to Galaxy Digital worth around $81 million, also unconfirmed as a direct sale at the time.
What It Means for Markets
Large-scale miner-to-exchange transfers represent potential selling pressure, though a single 1,000 BTC tranche at ~$82.8M is modest relative to spot market depth. If confirmed as a sale, it would reinforce a pattern of MARA systematically reducing its bitcoin reserves in favor of AI-driven diversification. For live bitcoin price data, visit CoinLab.
