Cross River Bank Embeds Ripple's RLUSD Into Core Banking System
U.S. fintech bank Cross River has embedded Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin ($2.5B market cap) into its core platform, giving clients 3–5 second, 24/7 settlements via one API.

Cross River Bank, a U.S. fintech-focused lender, embedded Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin into its proprietary Core Operating System (COS) on October 15, 2026. The integration lets the bank's fintech clients move RLUSD alongside traditional payment rails — ACH, wires, and real-time payments — through a single API.
Details
Transactions settle on the XRP Ledger in 3–5 seconds, around the clock, at a fraction of a cent per transfer. Fintech companies plugging into Cross River's platform no longer need to build their own blockchain infrastructure. The bank had flagged stablecoin payment capabilities in November 2025; the RLUSD tie-in marks the commercial rollout.
RLUSD is backed 1:1 by U.S. dollars and carried a market cap of over $2.5 billion at the time of the announcement. Adam Goller, Head of Fintech Banking at Cross River, said in the official release: "Businesses shouldn't have to rely on several different providers to move money across the globe. Our partnership with Ripple eliminates that complexity and makes payments simpler." Markus Infanger, SVP of RippleX at Ripple, added that stablecoins will reshape payments not through parallel financial systems but "by becoming part of the banking infrastructure businesses already use." The service is currently available in select U.S. states.
What It Means for the Market
Embedding RLUSD into mainstream banking infrastructure removes one of the key barriers to institutional stablecoin adoption — the need to run separate blockchain rails. For Ripple, it extends RLUSD's reach into enterprise treasury and cross-border settlement. Standard Chartered had already added RLUSD custody in October 2025; Cross River now opens the token to a wide network of fintech partners. Current XRP price on CoinLab.
