Chainlink will supply oracle infrastructure to LG CNS's digital asset platform; LG CNS is a lead contractor on the Bank of Korea's digital currency pilot.

Chainlink Partners With LG CNS for South Korea's Market

Chainlink and LG CNS, the technology arm of South Korea's LG Group, announced a partnership on digital asset infrastructure, according to a press release issued on October 22 at 4:00 PM ET.

Details

The companies outlined three areas: Chainlink's oracle and cross-chain services for LG CNS's Digital Asset Platform Solution, work on technical standards for digital assets in Korea, and solutions for Korean financial institutions.

The release says LG CNS is a lead contractor on the Bank of Korea's digital currency initiative, Project Hangang, whose first phase involves roughly 80,000 customers across seven banks. The companies put Korea's digital asset market at $68 billion and cite more than 11 million eligible users of Korean stablecoins. These are the parties' own estimates from the release; we have not verified them independently.

LG CNS executive vice president Hongkeun Kim said: "Korea's financial infrastructure is entering the tokenization era." Launch dates, financial terms and customer names were not disclosed. Bitcoin.com News also covered the announcement.

What it means for the market

For Chainlink, the deal opens a route to Korean institutional clients through a large systems integrator, but for now it is an announcement of cooperation with no named products or volumes. Any effect on LINK depends on whether real deployments follow.
