Binance to Accept 5 bStocks Tokens as Margin Collateral

Binance will let users post five bStocks tokenized securities, including Berkshire Hathaway, as collateral on Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin from 12:00 UTC Oct. 21.

Binance to Accept 5 bStocks Tokens as Margin Collateral

Binance will add five bStocks tokens to the list of eligible collateral on Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro, according to the exchange's announcement. The change takes effect at 12:00 UTC on Oct. 21 (8:00 AM ET).

The tokens are RoboStrategy Inc (BOTB), Berkshire Hathaway (BRKBB), KraneShares STAR Market 50 ETF (KSTRB), Direxion Daily 20 Year Treasury Bull 3X ETF (TMFB) and Vistra Corp (VSTB). Their trading pairs will also open for margin trading.

The feature is unavailable in restricted regions. Regular, VIP 1 and VIP 2 users must complete a suitability questionnaire before using bStocks in margin. Binance notes that bStocks are offered under an approved prospectus in ADGM and are not shares of the underlying companies.

Details

The tokens are added as collateral on Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro only. Borrowing against them is not supported for now, and Binance says it will announce any change separately. Collateral value is calculated with a dedicated bStocks index price methodology, and risk controls are set out in Binance's bStocks margin collateral guide.

The mix is unusual: alongside Berkshire Hathaway and Vistra Corp sit a fund tracking China's STAR 50 market and a 3x leveraged long-Treasury ETF (TMFB). Binance urges users to adopt strict risk management and monitor margin levels.

bStocks launched on June 11, 2026, and in mid-October passed $1 billion in assets under management. The tokens are offered under an approved prospectus in ADGM (Abu Dhabi), are not available in the US or to US persons, and trade on a secondary-market basis only. Binance stresses that bStocks are certificates tied to financial instruments, not shares, and give no direct ownership in the underlying company.

What this means for the market

Accepting tokenized securities as collateral blurs the line between equity and crypto markets: a trader can hold BTC or altcoin positions without selling an equity token. It also adds risk, since stocks and crypto can fall together under stress, and a leveraged ETF as collateral amplifies swings.

For now the feature is narrow: regional limits, a questionnaire for lower VIP tiers and no borrowing against these tokens. Track the market in the daily briefing and Binance's own coin on the BNB page.
